Runner up design for the Sixth Annual Faculty Invitational postcard mailer. The object of the contest was to design something entirely with text or with minimal photographic elements. I chose to go entirely with text as it is more challenging than using photographic elements. As the event was informal I used the semi-calligraphic typeface Lydian, which has an airy retro feel to it, for the main titling text. The type spiralling into the centre of the design at different sizes gives it energy and the white spaces in the various letters add visual interest.

Being as a spiral was impractical on the back side of the card I chose to use ovals in various sizes to invoke the same feeling and also to compartmentalise the information the back of the card was to carry.
