Designed as an example of imagery in type, the logo on this design is the “gy” ligature in the Mrs Eaves typeface duplicated and mirrored to create a butterfly. Mrs Eaves is a very feminine typeface and it’s italic even more so. To capitalise on this fact I decided, for my portfolio, to incorporate it into a corporate identity piece for a modern business woman. The use of Mrs Eaves gives the piece femininity and the stripes in the background stop it from being overly so by adding an understated bold element to the piece.
Ideally this would be printed on stationery that already has the stripes incorporated on it, however by using a colour printer the stripes can be printed at the same time as the text. Unfortunately only a borderless printer can do so effectively without having to cut the paper down after printing.
